YouTube Webcam Streams Are Unsupported

We’d like to inform you about an issue where you used a scheduled stream created in the YouTube Live Dashboard, but the live stream did not start properly.

Once you create a scheduled stream in the YouTube Live Dashboard, you can start live streaming by selecting the scheduled stream in the PRISM app.

However, a scheduled stream created from the 'Webcam' menu in the YouTube Live Dashboard is intended for direct use on the YouTube Live Dashboard webpage, not for general live streaming apps.

So, if you try to use a scheduled stream created in the 'Webcam' menu in the PRISM app, the live stream will not start properly, and the following message will appear.

Android error code: 4224

You can create a scheduled stream that works with the PRISM app as follows. To start the process, open the YouTube Live Dashboard in a PC web browser instead of a mobile web browser. https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UC/livestreaming/dashboard

Select 'Manage' from the menu on the left. This menu is represented by a calendar icon. After selecting 'Manage', click the 'Schedule Stream' button in the top right corner.

In the 'Create stream' menu, select 'Streaming software' under the "How do you want to go live?" option. At this point, you must select ‘Streaming software’ even if you plan to use the scheduled stream in the PRISM mobile app. If you select ‘Mobile’, the live stream will start normally in the PRISM app, but it will not be visible to viewers on YouTube.

After selecting 'Streaming software', follow the on-screen instructions to complete the stream creation process. On the live preparation screen in the PRISM app, click the 'Calendar' button to select and start your scheduled stream.
